What a book. This is really excellent addition to the story. Hoping for book three soon. Cant wait for it to come out.
The story continues. In this one it solidifies better and character development is better. Overall it is a vast improvement. I like it and can't wait until book three.

This is the most horrid attempt at inept grotesque writing I have ever seen. The super duper hero's daddy n old war general n whopper duper super dupe hero runs leaving his sons best friend on his own. Coward dat e be!
Our duper hero gets captured n like the wimp he is before wam bam super wus becomes invincible wussy!! Dupe da do.
Most pathetic book I have read in months n the freebies offered in their ten dollar book club which are indeed pathetic!!!!!!!!
I mean daddy escapes, leaves old best bud so he gets captured AGAIN while in da midst of allies. Only his stupid familiar runs off into da enemy so dis kin happen!!!!! Give me a break!! . Read any other book and save yourself. Seriously.
This is a much better book than the first. It flows better and the plot feels more thought out. I will probably get the third book.
I was really looking forward to this book after the first but was a little let down. Basically the story jumps way to much between scenes without enough info to complete the gap fully by yourself. Also, (spoiler alert)......how many times can the characters be captured without being killed? Started to feel like a 60s batman show where joker gets batman only to lose him. Its' the Brightflame, the only person to have any chance of stopping the bad guy and they toy with him over and over instead of eliminating him at once? All that being said I do like the characters, story, plot and the pace and look forward to the next book.
The sequel to Brightflame Ascension is captivating. Filled with new characters and new territories, the Brightflame continues his quest across Gammalgard. As a reader I was strapped to the edge of my seat throughout (I binge-read it in two sittings). I would rank this in my top 10 favorite fantasy series.
Congrats to D.B. Penner and I look forward to the third book.
